RAGGING: A PUNISHABLE CRIME:

Students are warned strictly that they should not practice ragging at all, or otherwise legal action will be taken against such erring students. Zero tolerance for ragging as per the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court and Govt Rajpatra March, 25, 2009. Do not practice it otherwise you will be prosecuted for the same.

Students are informed that under the orders of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India as well as Hon’ble High Court and Himachal Pradesh University Notification No. 1-14/SPU/DSW/08-/360 Dated 10th July, 2008, Ragging in Educational Institutions including Hostels is strictly banned.

Under the H.P. Government ordinance of 2009 any student found guilty of ragging will be imprisoned for a term which may extend for the three years or fine which may extend to Rs. 50,000/- or both. Any student found involved in Ragging will be punished appropriately which may include.

• Imprisonment,fine or both
• Expulsion from the College
• Suspension from the College
• Fine with public apology
• With holding scholarships or other benefits
• Debarring from the representation in sports/cultural events
• Suspension o rExpulsion from Hostel or Mess
• Legal proceeding under criminal law by lodging FIR
